About Kia Māia

Kia Māia Bicultural Communications consists of Alexandra Tidswell (LLB, BA (Māori Studies)) and Janine Kapa (BEd, DipTchg).

We provide a combination of research, evaluation, writing, training, project management and strategic planning skills and experience underpinned by a firmly bicultural perspective.

Janine’s background is deeply rooted in Te Waipounamu. She is Ngāi Tahu of Kāti Makō and Kāti Irakehu descent, and has European ancestry also.

Alexandra is also from Te Waipounamu and is a sixth generation New Zealander of European whakapapa, with a grounding in Māori and Pasifika issues and perspectives.
